My skin is extremely dry, especially in winter. One day I have the air conditioner on and the next, the heater. Those of you who live in Northwest Florida totally understand. I'm sure the changing of the thermometer has something to do with the dryness of my skin. In my quest to find a non-abrasive facial cleanser over several years, I am so happy to say I found the one; Clinique Take the day off cleanser. I love the way it feels on my skin. I put it all over my face, use my ... View the Post
Mom’s Easy Apple Pie
I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.L.A. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables Oh, me too, Anne of Green Gables. Living on the Gulf Coast of Florida is an absolute gift. However, the hot temperatures can go on, and on, and on. We don’t normally feel real Fall temperatures until late October and then it seems as if overnight it’s winter. I have never lived anywhere that the weather surrenders to the four seasons. It’s either cold or it’s hot with a few sprinkled in ... View the Post
New Mexico / Colorado Summer 2019
Danny and I took a trip to Colorado by way of New Mexico. From where we live, we always have a connection in Atlanta, in fact, we will most likely go through the Atlanta airport with a connecting flight when we go to Heaven. I kid, of course…. but still. The Atlanta airport is both fascinating and overstimulating to me. I don’t generally like crowds, so the airport can be a little overwhelming. What I do love is to travel so I get over it! We had a very busy first three quarters of ... View the Post
Girlfriends – Sacred Treasures
Remember Red Rover, the game we played on the school playground? During this game, the captain of each team chose the players until every person was on a team. I can remember my heart beating fast during the “choosing” portion of the game because I did not want to be chosen last. Honestly, in life, I still don’t want to be chosen last. Being chosen tells us that we are valued, wanted, preferred, selected, favored, singled out. The opposite of chosen is declined, turned down, refused, rejected, ... View the Post
Ties that bind & Cornbread

My siblings or myself always had a friend or two over, and if any adult happened to be nearby, they were at the table too. It was common knowledge in our small town that mama cooked and cooked plenty, every night. We had a long farmhouse style table with benches on each ... View the Post
The Bronco
Several years ago, as in fourteen, Danny and I were driving down 12th Ave when he saw it; a 1977 Ford Bronco. I wasn't quite as taken with it as he was but I knew he had always wanted one and so I encouraged him to buy it if he wanted it. His plan was to restore it and fourteen years later, he finally has his prized possession. During that fourteen years there were so many times he thought about just selling it at the stage that it was in. As with most restorations it seemed as if at every turn ... View the Post
